Timeline for new members:
Interview with the Membership Committee. Interviews are held once per month. If found favorable, the Corps will vote to confirm you as a member at the next membership meeting. A non-refundable $25 application fee is due at time of application and is payable online.
You will need to complete your basic training to be able to ride on the ambulance.
This consists of CPR, two computer based courses that take four to five hours total, and six workshops.

A test will be administered to ensure that you understand the skills learned in training.
Once you pass the test you will become an observer. Observers can sign up for observer shifts online.

Observers must complete ten calls to be eligible to become attendants. Most members are able to complete this requirement in eight to twelve, four-hour shifts. Once the call quota is met, a test will be administered to ensure proficiency in the skills taught in training. Members who pass this test become attendants.
To contribute more to the Corps, nearly all attendants complete additional training either to become EMTs, drivers, or both. EMT courses are offered locally and driver training is done in-house.
REQUIREMENTS TO MAINTAIN MEMBERSHIP:
- The first 90 days of membership are a probationary period. New members must complete their training in this time and remain in good standing.
- Members must complete a minimum of volunteering 100 hour each year to remain active. Most members complete far more than that. The more you put into VAC, the more you will get out.
- Members must attend a set number of training sessions every year to maintain their skills and learn new ones.
- Due to the training requirements, we are unable to sign school service hours within the first year of membership.
